Development of a hydrogen hub in Franche-Comté region
Last december 2015, Pôle Véhicule du Futur has organized a focus on hydrogen, with the start up MAHYTEC from Dole (near Switzerland).
What was discussed during this meeting ?
- hydrogen in the world,
- hydrogen in the strategy of our cluster
- Franche-Comté : home to a regional hydrogen cluster based on know-how, structured public research and industrial strength
- Pre-industrial specific projects
- MOBILHyTEst : electric Renault Kangoo with range extender
- MOBYPOST : hydrogen quadricycles for postmen
- Initiative for energy storage
About MAHYTEC
MaHyTec specialises in the research, production, and the construction requirements for storing hydrogen in mobile applications. They are also experts in composite materials and filament winding. They are currently developing a range of hydrogen reservoirs adapted for storing high pressure gases or for storing solid hydrogen carbons.
MaHyTec was awarded the World Competition for Innovation '2030' in the year 2014 following the RHYMOVE project, an alternative solution that combines both storage
technologies.
The company was also successful in being granted a call for tender by the French Vanoise National Park to supply energy. The principle is based on providing a 'turnkey' solution connected to the existing power source in order to obtain the required energy and power in
all weather conditions. The system has an electrolyser and fuel cells, and a medium-pressure storage system that can provide hydrogen based power. 5 kgs of hydrogen can be produced and stored when the National Park is closed, and will be a stored supplementary energy
source for providing power in the open season.
